work you are doing in a grid. For example, when you open a window that has a grid with
personal events in it, the first row is in edit mode, see Edit Mode example below. When you
press the TAB key or the CTRL key and the INSERT key to add a new personal event, the new
row is in add mode, see Add Mode example below. And when you select a row, its indicator
becomes a right arrowhead, see Selected Row example below.

Grids and Notes

To save notes when you add or edit family notes (see page 26), member notes (see page 29), or personal events (see page 29), move into the grid and select the description of the note or personal event. Then save the description.

Drop-down List Boxes

Drop-down list boxes contain a list of items from which you can select one at a time. To use the mouse to open a drop-down list, point and click on the down arrow. To move through the items in a drop-down list, point and click on the up arrow, the down arrow, or anywhere on the scroll bar. To select an item with the mouse, point and click on the item that you want to select.
